Coriolis Mass Flowmeter: The Key to Accurate Measurement

A Coriolis mass flowmeter is a high-precision instrument used to measure fluid mass flow. It operates based on the Coriolis effect. The Coriolis effect refers to the phenomenon in a rotating system where an object moving in a straight line is subjected to a force perpendicular to the direction of motion. This force is called the Coriolis force.

A Coriolis mass flowmeter measures mass flow by detecting the Coriolis force generated by fluid flowing through a pipe. This instrument offers high measurement accuracy (typically up to ±0.05%) and is unaffected by fluid properties such as density, temperature, and viscosity. Therefore, it is widely used in many industrial fields, especially where high-precision measurement is required.

A Coriolis mass flowmeter primarily consists of a sensor and a transmitter. The sensor, typically a U-shaped tube or a single-loop pipe, vibrates to generate the Coriolis force. As fluid flows through the sensor, the Coriolis force causes a phase difference, which is proportional to the mass flow rate. The transmitter converts this phase difference into an electrical signal, processes it, and outputs the mass flow rate value.

Advantages of Coriolis Mass Flow Meters:

High Accuracy: Coriolis mass flow meters offer exceptionally high measurement accuracy, typically reaching ±0.05%. This makes them highly reliable in applications requiring precise measurement.
Unaffected by Fluid Properties: Coriolis mass flow meter measurements are unaffected by fluid properties such as density, temperature, and viscosity, ensuring consistent and accurate measurements.
Applicable to a wide range of media: These flow meters can measure a variety of fluid types, including liquids, gases, and even slurries, encompassing a wide range of applications.
Long-Term Stability: Coriolis mass flow meters offer excellent long-term stability, enabling them to operate reliably for extended periods in harsh industrial environments.

Coriolis mass flow meters are widely used in a variety of industries, including chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and oil and gas. For example, in chemical production, they can precisely control material flow during reactions; in the pharmaceutical industry, they can ensure accurate proportions in drug production; and in the food and beverage industry, they can accurately measure and control the proportions of ingredients.

In short, Coriolis mass flow meters, with their high accuracy, reliability, and wide applicability, have become an indispensable tool in modern industry.
